About Us

Hello friends,

Let me tell you right now that this will be somewhat longer than the typical “About Us” page. That’s because there a few unique things that I think you should know……

August Forthright has had a successful 25-year professional / management career for a variety of Fortune 500 and emerging companies. I did very well for myself and enjoyed my career growth, but I came to realize several years ago that it wasn’t my passion. And I used to wonder what was…..

Things went sort of volatile in my career in the early 2000’s. Amidst the career chaos, I also started to notice all of the other strangeness going on and I started to pay closer attention to my surroundings.

I began to ask questions. And that’s how I found my passion. My bliss. Through the disarray of earlier this century, I discovered my intense interest and fulfillment in the research I was doing to understand what the heck was going on in our economy– and why.

This passion included the “need” to share my findings with people so that they could understand what I knew, and they could begin to protect themselves from the massive unforeseen (to most people) economic and societal changes that I began to see were looming ahead of us. And they could also learn the specific things they would need to do to actually prosper during this very strange environment.

It’s interesting. I wrote “Gold, Oil, and God: A Look at America’s Future” in 2005. Then, as I was following my bliss in beginning to figure out how to market the book and get the word out, several things in my personal life began to implode. Big time.

I ended up putting the “bliss” on hold for two years, concentrating on healing and on my conventional career.

Towards the end of 2007, as I was reading about the mortgage implosions, homeowner foreclosures, imminent recession, the plummeting of the dollar, and the spike up in gold prices – I was struck by something overwhelmingly significant. What I wrote in 2005 was in fact already coming true!!

That dose of credibility and realization, coupled with God’s healing gifts, re-ignited the passion in me to share what I had learned with you – with the world.

Bottom line: Yes, there will be some ugliness ahead. It’s already here for millions of distressed homeowners, construction workers, and untold others. And yes – I talk about the details of the ugliness in my ebook and in my newsletters. But bigger than that – because of the pain-induced growth of my own personal journey of the past couple of years, I am now much better equipped to help you all with how to personally cope and even individually thrive as things swarming around us may get uglier. I am now more convinced than ever that everything does indeed happen for a reason.

By the way – my name, it’s a pen name. Big surprise, huh. It represents what I stand for:

  • August means “full of dignity”
  • Forthright means “going straight to the point”

  • As I share on this site and in books and newsletters, I will strive to remain true to this moniker.

Keep safe. Be alert. Stay tuned.

Why be anxious? We show you how to prosper now.

    August
